😃 Fantastic conversation and information-sharing from our inspiring presenters and guests

Research tells us that one in four young Australians will experience mental illness at some point in their early adulthood. Between the ages of 18 and 27, most young adults are forging their career pathways, enjoying a busy social life and perhaps starting to settle down with long-term partners.

For many of those with a diagnosed mental illness though, life is not so rosy. The isolation and loss of relationships that can occur as a result of mental illness can be profoundly destabilising, and lead to a sense of hopelessness and poor long-term health outcomes. Coronavirus has only made this worse. As the pandemic forced us all indoors and away from our loved ones, it exacerbated feelings of isolation.

But why are young adults most affected by challenging mental illness and addiction? What’s the relationship between mental illness and addiction? How do young adults currently fall through the health system cracks? What should we be doing to change the outlook for young adults who are struggling with diagnosed mental illness and addiction?

Well, we’re bringing together some experts to help answer these questions and more!

Dr Frances Hughes (RN, DNurs, CNZM) – Director and Co-Founder MindFx

Luke Terry, CEO White Box Enterprises

Join us for a night of stimulating conversation and great company and help MindFx raise the funds it needs to launch its first fully integrated health service centre for young adults, so that they can start enjoying a socially connected and healthier future.

Between each guest speaker, enjoy more networking and get amongst the bidding at the live auctions for fabulous donated items such as an Outback Getaway, thanks to Outback Aussie Tours.

What to look forward to:

We’ll start the night with appetisers and drinks, and some good old fashion fund-raising with raffle tickets and the chance to win some amazing prizes.
